4/26/2006 Think you have what it takes to make it in comics? Do you feel you possess a unique vision for what comics can be?
Ask any working professional what the hardest part of working in comics is, and they're bound to tell you that it's breaking in. Getting an editor -- or, better yet, a publisher -- to look at your work takes determination, patience, and sometimes a great deal of luck.
The Women of Comics Symposium and Paradise Comics Toronto Comicon is your chance to present your work to two distinguished editors in the field - Diana Schutz, of Dark Horse Comics, and Shelly Bond, of Vertigo Comics.
Portfolio Review Times
Both will be reviewing portfolios at various different times throughout the April 28th - 30th weekend. Here are the details:
Diana Schutz Portfolio Reviews
Friday, April 28th: 5-6pm
Saturday, April 29th: 3-4pm
Sunday, April 30th: 3-4pm
Portfolio Review Tips
If you're planning to show your portfolio, Dark Horse Comics has a very helpful Portfolio Prep 101" tutorial on their site. It's full of information on what editors look for during portfolio reviews and it's recommended that you follow these guidelines!

UPDATE - Please note that Shelly Bond has had to cancel her appearance at the convention due to health reasons.
